Normally around this time of year I make my annual trek to New York City. I love NYC in the fall, but the last couple of trips (2019 and last year), I mistimed it and got there before the autumn foliage was in full-bloom color mode. This time of year is also “book season,” with many new releases (including large format gift books) coming out in time for the holidays. I’m not going back this year, because of my 3-week sojourn in the UK (see numerous other posts below) and other (mainly financial) considerations, but some older photos I’ve taken in that storied city always remind me of how iconic it is, including this “symphony” of light and shadow on a building’s brick walls. New York City will always hold a special place in my heart and memories, and I hope to visit there sometime in the near future.
