I used to live in downtown San Diego, on the eastern edge of Horton Plaza (which barely exists anymore). This was the view from one of my apartments in the building (I lived in three different ones from 1998 through 2017), facing due east and the Hotel St. James, which was really a Ramada Inn, I believe, at that time. Occasionally you’d get an added bonus when you looked out the window (I won’t tell you about what I saw the woman downstairs doing on her balcony one time), like this lovely rainbow. I don’t miss living downtown, but I do miss this view just a little bit.
