Tales from My Spinner Rack LIVE! at WonderCon

Sunday, March 26 at 1:00 PM in Room 213CD

Join me at WonderCon 2023 for my first-ever solo panel devoted to my weekly blog feature, “Tales from My Spinner Rack!”

Yep … I’m taking my blog and hitting the road, at least to Anaheim and WonderCon, my old stomping—and shopping—ground when I worked for Comic-Con. I’ll be doing a live presentation on Sunday, March 26 at 1:00 PM in Room 213CD called “Tales from My Spinner Rack LIVE!”, based on my weekly feature on this very blog.

Here’s the official PR for the panel:

Gary Sassaman is the former director of programming and print & publications for Comic-Con International: San Diego and WonderCon. In his 21-year career with the world’s most famous comics convention, Sassaman was the first to program Ballroom 20 and Hall H at Comic-Con, created the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival, and—as director of print & publications—edited and designed Comic-Con and WonderCon’s publications from 2007 through 2020, commissioning exclusive original covers by artists such as Jim Lee, Michael Cho, Bruce Timm, Jen Bartel, Babs Tarr, Matt Taylor, Rick Geary, Sergio Aragonés, and many more. He is also the creator of the fondly-remembered 1990s indie comics series, Innocent Bystander.

Since retiring in 2021, Sassaman has been writing about the 1960s comic books he owned and loved as a child, in his weekly feature “Tales from My Spinner Rack,” online at innocent-bystander.com. Join Sassaman at WonderCon 2023 on Sunday, March 26 at 1:00 PM in Room 213CD at the Anaheim Convention Center for the first-ever panel devoted to “Tales from My Spinner Rack.” This presentation will bring to life the history, creators and characters involved in some of the books Sassaman has written about, along with his own fond memories of these classic—and not-so-classic—comic books.

Plus, free postcards and buttons! Hope to see you there!
