Here’s the video of my live (well, mostly alive) appearance on the SDCC Unofficial Blog’s SDConCast podcast on You Tube on Tuesday, May 17th. I’ve embedded the link below for your viewing pleasure, and seriously, just who isn’t happy to see me pontificating on my favorite subject: Me.
This installment talks about my time as Comic-Con’s Director of Print and Publications (aka Print and Digital Media) from 2007 through 2020, and concentrates mainly on the Comic-Con Souvenir Books from 2015 through 2020 that I edited and designed. We also talk a little about the current “Cover Story” exhibit at the Comic-Con Museum, based on the one I curated in 2019 as the first-ever Comic-Con oriented exhibition in that building (three years before it officially opened), and my working with artists such as Rick Geary on covers and art for the Toucan Blog, and Matt Taylor and his 2018 Souvenir Book cover and Mondo print. My segment runs a little over an hour, and I could’ve easily filled another hour talking about the covers I commissioned, because hey … who doesn’t love to sit and talk about themselves? Certainly not me!
Thanks to Kerry, James, and Andy for having me back on the big show and allowing me to control your screen for a bit. Just remember: There is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to — The Outer Limits.
See you next year, same time, same YouTube Channel, hopefully!
