Last time I featured a photo from the Farmers Market in Los Angeles, and wrote about how the old and the new were co-existing peacefully, side-by-side, with both the market and The Grove, a trendy mall built right next door. Here’s an example of that in-play in Northern California.
This photo from San Francisco (just down the street from the famous City Lights bookstore) shows a great old hotel sign (the Pacific Beach hotel) in front of the Zoetrope Building, which itself is in front of what used to be called TransAmerica Pyramid, the second-tallest building in San Francisco. Once again, this photo is from my early “filter period,” when I applied garish filters to just about all my photos. (Hey, you live and you learn, right?) I still like it, though, especially the composition and framing.
