“You and I travel to the beat of a different drum,” the song goes and I’m always reminded of it when I see this photo I took near the Crissy Field area along the bay in San Francisco quite a few years back. I suppose “You’ve Got to Dance Like Nobody’s Watching” would be an alternate title, but I like Linda Rondstadt better (the actual song was written by The Monkees’s Mike Nesmith). Either way, there she was, in her own world, with the fog-bound Golden Gate Bridge behind her, dancing to the sound of her own drum and not giving a rat’s ass to who was watching—or snapping a photo.
