The Memorial Day weekend unleashes the onslaught of tourists to my little private island. Even last year, during the midst of the Pandemic, Coronado was crowded, especially on the weekends. I’m afraid it will be even worse this year since restrictions are easing and people–myself included–are antsy to get back out there. Still, I knew what I was getting myself into when I moved here back in 2017, so there’s no one to kick but myself, and since old age is making me less spry these days, I think my backside is safe. At least Monday through Wednesday will remain calmer and quieter for the next three months.
