I take the ferry from Coronado to San Diego 4 days a week, back and forth. It’s an amazing way to commute (and includes about a half-hour walk each way, so I get some exercise in, too). On days when I get the smaller of the two ferry boats, the Silvergate (pictured here), it’s even more special. The Silvergate has outdoor seating that puts you right on the water. It’s a quick 15-minute trip from the Broadway Pier to the Ferry Landing Place in Coronado (only 5 minutes if you go from behind the San Diego Convention Center, where the Silvergate is usually docked), but it’s like the Great Escape for me every day.
