On July 24, 2025, Tales From My Spinner Rack! debuted a brand-new, graphics-filled presentation at Comic-Con International: San Diego in celebration of the premiere weekend of the new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Fantastic Four: First Steps. “Our Favorite Fantastic Four Covers by Jack Kirby” took panel attendees back in time to view all 101 Fantastic Four covers—plus 7 Annual covers—by the co-creator of Marvel’s first family, one of the most fondly-remembered runs in the history of superhero comic book series.
This fun, nostalgic trip through the first decade of Fantastic Four comics was moderated by me, Gary Sassaman, and included commentary, behind-the-scenes revelations, and personal memories from myself and two of the world’s most highly respected Kirby experts, Mark Evanier (former assistant and friend of Jack and author, Kirby King of Comics), and John Morrow (editor-publisher, Jack Kirby Collector magazine). Trust me … you’ll probably learn something you never knew before about Kirby, the Fantastic Four, and the characters that appeared in that first decade of the FF … I know I did!
Full disclosure: This is a re-creation of my Comic-Con 2025 panel, not a recording of it. Mark Evanier and John Morrow are quoted throughout the video, but do not actually appear.
Here’s the video. Click on it to watch it on the official Tales From My Spinner Rack! channel on YouTube, where new videos appear a day before they’re posted here.
