Apologies for the clickbait headline … it’s nothing life-threatening or urgent. Just a personal favor, please.
For the past year, I’ve been creating videos on my YouTube channel @ TalesFromMySpinnerRack. They’re based on my nostalgia for the old comic books I grew up loving in the 1960s and ‘70s. To-date, I’ve done 13 videos (#14 debuts in early November and is in production now), and have amassed over 800 subscribers and 4,000 hours of views. This is a project I started doing just for myself, something creative to do in retirement based on something I love, so I never dreamed anyone else would be remotely interested in my little comic book history videos, let alone 800 people.
I’m just 200 subscribers short of being monetized on YouTube. Once you hit 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of views, you’re eligible for a cut from the commercials they run during your videos. And while money was never a consideration for me, I’m so close to having it just happen that I’ve decided to pursue it a bit more aggressively.
So here’s where YOU—friends, Romans*, and country-people—come in. I’m asking you to please subscribe to my YouTube channel. I have big plans for next year, including an all-new graphic look, a cool giveaway for my convention appearances, and some special episodes relating to a certain Fantastic Foursome. I’ve even bought a high-end wireless microphone to hopefully improve the audio quality of my recordings. (You’re still stuck with my voice, unfortunately.)
Even if you don’t like comic books, please subscribe @ TalesFromMySpinnerRack. My goal is 1,000 subscribers by January 1, 2025. I’ve been told my videos are funny, educational, nostalgic, and have great graphics. I agree!
If any of my comic book peeps are reading this, please signal boost on your social media to help my cause … it’s greatly appreciated!
Subscribe today @ TalesFromMySpinnerRack on YouTube!
*PS—I don’t really know any Romans.
