Tales From My Spinner Rack! Episode 08, titled “Just Imagine! DC Comics House Ads,” is now available for your viewing pleasure! This all new video explores the wonderful world of DC Comics House Ads from the Silver Age of Comics, roughly the 12-cent era from 1962 to 1969, which includes ads scanned from the comics in my own collection, straight off my spinner rack! You’ll see some examples of house ads going back to the Golden Age of Comics, and learn about the one man—Ira Schnapp—most responsible for DC’s wildly imaginative and beautifully designed and hand-lettered ads. Over 100 ads are presented in this roughly 39-minute video (yeah, I’m a bit chatty).
