One thing about living downtown: I had this expansive view due east of San Diego and sometimes it was absolutely spectacular, like this rainbow that appeared right after a particularly swift and violent thunderstorm. I don’t miss living downtown—it’s a mess, unfortunately—but I do sometimes miss that view, especially when I come across old photos like this one.
