Bric-a-Brac …

Another long-ago look at downtown San Diego, in the heart of the Gaslamp. This view was one block from where I lived for almost 20 years. It’s the Wyatt Earp Building on the left alongside the Hotel St. James sign, which is on top of what is now called Palihotel San Diego. I think it used to be a Ramada, and it had the West Coast’s first hotel elevator and a long, beautiful, wooden bar in the restaurant that was said to be from Joan Crawford’s home. Urban legends? Who knows! I just love the busyness of this building against that blue sky.
