Back in 2018 I took a walk up to the Hotel del Coronado here in my current hometown and found one of the most incredible sunsets I’ve ever seen: bright, vivid oranges and pinks silhouetting the people, lifeguard station, and even a passing seagull on the beach.
This past Christmas I made my usual holiday visit to the hotel to see their decorations and found the moody sunset shown above behind it. It was entirely fitting to this year’s winter, one marked with cold temperatures and lots of December rainfall, something that very rarely happens here in San Diego. I almost like this one as much as that vivid one from years ago (see below). Both showcase the incredible natural beauty of where I’m lucky to live.
