Framed …

I used to stay in that hotel in the center of the palm trees when I worked for that big pop culture convention. It’s called the Hilton Bayfront San Diego, in a bit of Yoda-like language that seems a bit stilted and opposite (“Hotel name out of order, it is.”).

This shot was taken on one of my late-afternoon walks, which I have gotten in the habit of taking. I call it my “walk around the block,” but it’s actually about 1.5-1.75 miles (it’s a big block). At this time of day, just pre-sunset, the light is golden and lovely and photo opportunities (not the kind where you shake hands with some much-hated and maligned politician) abound. Sometimes they jump right out at me.
