I don’t know what it is about the sky and clouds here in California, but they both seem bigger. Maybe it’s the view, maybe it’s that back in both eastern and western Pennsylvania (and the vast forest in between), everything is so tightly packed in that the sky has no room to breathe. I’m always amazed at the day after a storm here in San Diego, and how big and fluffy the clouds are as the storm system moves out, and the deep blue color the sky takes on. I’ve lived here longer than any other single place–over 22 years now–and the sky still amazes me.
