A stunning (if I do say so myself) shot of the Oculus in New York City, a newish shopping and transit center built under the site of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. It’s an awe-inspiring place, considering what was there before. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes it shows both the resilience and perseverance of New Yorkers (although one could argue a shopping center isn’t exactly a monument to what happened there on Sept. 11th, 2001 … but there is a more appropriate memorial nearby). Still, it is something worth seeing if you find yourself in the Big Apple. I heartily recommend it (and that and 5 bucks will get you a soy-milk grande latte at Starbucks.)
