San Francisco (Set #2): Lions, Jukeboxes, and Gandhi …

This second set of photos from my recent weekend in San Francisco includes Haight-Ashbury, Pacific Heights, and near the Ferry Building. It was a rainy Saturday (and a cloudy Sunday) for walking, but I put in the miles and took some great photos, including this mural (above) on mural-filled Haight Street. Did you know there are lots of lions in Pacific Heights? They’re all ornamental, but they’re there nonetheless. And did you know that Gandhi gets no respect? I’m not quite sure why there’s a statue of the famed peacemaker at the Ferry Building, but birds seem to love him. This set also includes books and bookstores (The Booksmith on Haight and Books Inc. in the Marina District), the charming houses of San Francisco, both large and small jukeboxes at Mel’s Diner on Mission St., and the requisite Vespa shot. Plus some seagulls, including Steven Seagull, behind the Ferry Building overlooking the Bay Bridge. And cheese. Lots and lots of cheese.

One more photo set to come: Chinatown and the always-looming TransAmerica Pyramid!

All photos were taken with an iPhone 6. Click on the thumbnails to see the photos larger on your screen and in slideshow mode. If you like my photos please follow me on Instagram @gg92101.
