A Walk Around La Jolla …

Saturday, March 19th was a picture-perfect day here in San Diego, and the perfect day to take a walk around La Jolla and take some picture-perfect pictures (I’m so modest) with my trusty iPhone 6.

La Jolla either means “The Jewel,” if you go by the Spanish version of La Joya, or “hole in the mountains,” referencing the famous La Jolla Cove, which comes from the Native American term “Woholle.” Either way, it’s one of the most beautiful spots in San Diego. I swear the color of the water is different here, much more green-blue. As someone who grew up vacationing on the New Jersey shore, with it’s grey and foreboding Atlantic Ocean, I can’t help but be amazed every time I visit La Jolla.

Maybe it was the last day of winter, that combined with a crisp ocean breeze, high, wispy clouds, and bright sunlight that somehow made the water seem darker in color and clearer in tone than ever before to me. Or maybe it’s just my eyes.

Here’s 2 dozen photos from my short walk near the ocean, before I got to the real order of my business in La Jolla: Visiting the only remaining great mainstream bookstore in San Diego, Warwick’s.

No filters added … however, I did boost and adjust color in all photos. Click on the images to see them larger on your screen and in slideshow mode.
